"It literally is the best Latin food ever. Was in from Thunder Bay for a conference and this was the 1st eatery we tried. NOT disappointed that’s for sure. Had the Taco Birrio and it barely fit in the container. Their homemade sauce and chips light your pallet right up. The best is that you feel/see the passion in the people serving you. Thank you for such great service and amazing food."

"I live 40 minutes away but after I tried the food once I started coming here as often as I could. I usually get the Birria tacos which are absolutely amazing and very filling but I started trying new things like the chicken pupusas. Just one will fill you up completely. The customer service is excellent and very informative with any questions I had. I would 100% recommend eating here and if it’s your first time I recommend the Birria tacos. Most flavourful and addictive tacos I’ve ever had."

"I first visited Chacalosa last Thursday and tried the chicken burrito—it was absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the freshness was unmatched. They served it with crispy nacho chips and homemade guacamole on the side, which were both incredible. So fresh and delicious! I was so impressed, I went back last night to try the birria tacos and chicken pasteles. Once again, they blew me away. I thought I might need more than three tacos, but I was wrong—they were generously stuffed and packed with flavor. The birria dipping sauce was rich and savory, and the hot sauce added the perfect kick. A staff member recommended I try the pasteles, and I’m so glad I did. They were fantastic—great portion size and beautifully made. Everything I’ve tried so far has been top-notch. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place deserves it. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you haven’t tried Chacalosa yet, I highly recommend you do. I’m already counting down the days until I go back next week!"

"So… if you haven’t already tried this place… go. I had my reservations about going to a Mexican restaurant at a mall but I’m not judging anymore. The Birria tacos and nachos… omg…. AMAZING!!! The papusa I had was stuffed to the brim with beans and cheese. Overall excellent place and would highly recommend."

"My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for the first time for dinner yesterday. WOW the birria taco did not disappoint! The flavour was amazing in both the taco and consumée! My boyfriend had the tamale and liked it, but we thought that the birria was the clear winner. Good portion sizes for the price as well. Definitely leagues ahead of Bella Jack’s. We’ll for sure be back again for more!"

"Chacalosa in the Elgin Mall is fantastic. I ordered the birria and cheese pupusas, and birria tacos and I have nothing but great things to say. Everything was full of flavour, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was warm and welcoming and you can tell care goes into the food. If you enjoy Latin cuisine, Chacalosa is definitely worth giving a shot. I will be back."
